Baby Jogger 2011 City Select Stroller in Amethyst (Purple) With Second Seat Reviews
13 of 13 people found the following review helpful great double stroller, June 21, 2011 This review is from: Baby Jogger 2011 City Select Stroller in Amethyst (Purple) With Second Seat (Baby Product) Reading reviews was very helpful to me when deciding to spend $700 for a double stroller... so I'm adding my 2 cents about the Baby Jogger City Select, hope it's helpful to someone.
I have a 19 month old and a 2 month old - hence the need for the double. Also, our primary family vehicle is a Buick Enclave and we specifically wanted a stroller that would fit in the cargo area WITH the 3rd seat up. There's not a lot of space...
I first looked at side-by-side doubles. These were nixed because of the weight difference between my kids. I tried many and even bought a cheap used one from Craigslist, but because of the 20 lb weight difference, no matter which ones I tried, they all pulled towards the side my 19 month old was sitting on. Even when I had the car seat adapter added and had the 2 month old and car seat, they all still pulled. This probably wouldn't have been an issue once the little one reaches a year and the weight difference is not so big. But I... Read more
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful Best stroller for twins, after much trial and error, April 19, 2011 This review is from: Baby Jogger 2011 City Select Stroller in Amethyst (Purple) With Second Seat (Baby Product) I have the Baby Jogger City Select with Second Seat and I love it. No stroller is perfect, but of the doubles I've had (Maclaren Twin Tecno, Maclaren Triumph and Bob Duallie), this is my go-to everyday stroller because it is the narrowest, goes anywhere and folds compactly. If I had to do it over, this probably would have been my only stroller - I just wish I had known about it before buying the others!
All these strollers can be used with my 8-month old twins and with my 41" four year old preschooler but the City Select is the most useful one.
PROS:
* The City Select was named Baby Gizmo's 2010 Top Tandem stroller.
* Goes anywhere - the reason I got it. I found out the hard way that side-by-sides do not fit between parked cars - the City Select does, with room to spare. This is the most important consideration when you're out and about with twins, so that you're not forced to leave one child alone in front of or behind your car while... Read more
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful Inefficeint, Designed Poorly, September 5, 2011 By This review is from: Baby Jogger 2011 City Select Stroller in Amethyst (Purple) With Second Seat (Baby Product) I have this double stroller as well as a 2010 Uppababy Vista.
I am reviewing this strictly as a Double stroller:
The City select is wide and heavy. The seats arent the greatest, though it is an improvement from the previous year with some support rather than free form like a hammock.
Folding it is easy after you remove the seats, keping it folded when transporting however is a different story, it just tends to unfold on its own. The clasp is pathetic. The seat belts and the adjustment design is poor, it is hard to fit a little one in the seats, until they are of a certain size (my youngest daughter is 11 months old and of normal size but the belts still dont fit). Also, the placement of the hook anchor is too narrow and is directly impacting the comfort of the child once they are of size.
Also, you will find that as many "configurations" as this has, that it is impossible to utilize them. Physically, its very hard to utilize the... Read more
